Working (Posing) Really Hard for the New Album
The record is well underway now.  We have 4 songs pretty much all recorded, including: "Checkpoints and Borders", "An End to a Means", "Fingerprint Armada", and "Surrounded".  It has taken quite a bit of work just to get to this point, but in the scheme of things we are just about 30-40% of the way there.  Even those songs are by no means completed, though the major recording for them is done (basic tracks plus overdubs, vocals, animal tracks, harps, bitchin' solos!, etc.).  There is some cool percussion sounds missing, a couple "oohs" and "aaahs" and "doo-waps" that still need to find their way into the recording (or maybe not).

Record, Record, Record
Tuesday, 15 May 2012

Things are moving along now on the recording front.  We have rhythm tracks for 4 songs (An End to a Means, Fingerprint Armada, Checkpoint and Borders, and Surrounded).  They just need some bells and whistles, figuratively...ok..literally.  Unfortunately, we now have some pretty hard/long songs in the near future coming up.  But, thanks to all the demos that we had done previously, we know what to expect and it's just a matter of focusing and using our jedi mind tricks.  In any case, here's a pic of John getting his groove on.

Liquid Casing Back in the Studio
Wednesday, 18 April 2012

It's that time again.  We have slaved over a whole new set of songs and ideas and we need to get them out of our heads (there's only so much room in there) and into your hands.  So, Liquid Casing is back at Red Flag Studios for some grueling work (as can be seen from the hard working-ed-ness of Okiki and John).

Liquid Casing Acoustic Set @ Art of Ricardo Gallery (9/19/10)
Monday, 13 September 2010

Liquid Casing will be taking it down a notch and doing an acoustic set at the Art of Ricardo Gallery on Sunday, September 19th as part of the "Honoring the Artisans of Oaxaca, Mexico" Event.  Instead of cranking our amps to 11, we will be unplugging.  However, since it is still Liquid Casing, this is equivalent to like a 10 on our amps.  The event starts at 11:30am and we will be starting our set at 1pm.  Chris Robbins will also be performing.

What:  The Wooden Wiles of Liquid Casing
When:  Sunday, September 19th (LC starts promptly at 1pm)
Where:Art of Ricardo Gallery - 2102 Bay Area Blvd, Houston TX 77058 (view map)
Why: As part of the event, there will be free 5 minute massages courtesy of Artful Touch Massage.  That sounds like a good reason.

John Pitale at Paiste Cymbal Day
Sunday, 05 September 2010

On Saturday, Sept. 25th, 2010, The Percussion Center will be hosting “PAISTE Cymbal Day” from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Percussion center is located at 6990 Portwest Drive, Ste.100, Houston, TX, 77024, Ph: 713-468-9100. For those of you who know our drummer, John Pitale, then you know how much he loves his PAISTE cymbals and sounds.  “Playing PAISTE has allowed me to react and respond to the music in ways I never thought possible. The sound truly inspires me.” he says.

PAISTE’s Ed Clift (who is an amazing drummer) will be at the center of the event and providing a historical timeline of the company around 1:00 p.m. PAISTE artist Mike Henry (from the percussion center) and John Scully (Yamaha/PAISTE) will be present as well.

Rumor has it that there is something brewing which involves “a lot of gongs and sounds” and something about a richter scale…….
